Closure of Paed’s Healer Week – A Successful Project by Rotary Club of Floreal
The Rotary Club of Floreal is pleased to announce the successful closure of the “Paed’s Healer Week”, a project that gained significant momentum and achieved remarkable success.
A medical team of five highly specialized doctors from Narayana Health Centre, under the supervision of Dr. Ashley D’Cruz, arrived in Mauritius on 1st September 2023. The opening ceremony was held on Sunday, 3rd September 2023, at the Ravenala Attitude Hotel, Balaclava, followed by a well-attended medical conference offering CPD points, which was enthusiastically received by local medical practitioners.
During the week, two specialist surgeons performed surgeries, while the remaining doctors visited all five public hospitals across the island. They had the opportunity to review complex cases, and they will continue to provide follow-up consultations virtually. Dr. Sunil Bhat, Director & Vice Chairman of Paediatric Haematology, Oncology, Clinical Immunology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation, also attended the New Cancer Hospital to review complicated cases. There will be continued follow-up to offer further assistance to the New Cancer Hospital.
This week was filled with enthusiasm, cooperation, and, most importantly, numerous achievements. The objectives of the project were successfully attained, and the impact on the community has been profound.
The success of this project would not have been possible without the collaboration of our partners from Narayana Health Centre, the Ministry of Health & Wellness, and all our sponsors. Together, we were able to bring smiles to the faces of many, especially children and their parents. We sincerely thank you for placing your trust in us and for making a meaningful difference.
The Rotary Club of Floreal extends its deepest appreciation, heartfelt thanks, and gratitude to all our sponsors, the Ministry of Health, and all our stakeholders, who supported this project, either directly or indirectly, to bring it to life.
We look forward to Session II next year.
