President's Message

Unveiling President Sunil's Message

My Dear Fellow Rotarians,

It is a great pleasure and privilege to welcome each of you to this Presidential Induction Night for the Rotary year 2024/25.

I am truly honored and humbled by the confidence and trust you have placed in electing me as President of the Rotary Club of Floreal for this year. This responsibility is one I hold close to my heart, and I am committed to upholding the values and ideals that Rotary represents.

Let me remind you from the very outset that a club cannot function with the President alone. We need the support and collaboration of each member to ensure we work together as a unified team. This year, we will move forward in compliance with the guidelines of Rotary International, while also aligning closely with our club’s primary objectives and By-Laws.

I am deeply moved by the dedication and unity that define our group. This year’s theme, “The Magic of Rotary,” beautifully captures the transformative power we wield together—a power rooted in our shared commitment to Service Above Self.

As the newly inducted President of this incredible organization, I am honored to serve alongside a group of passionate and dedicated individuals, each committed to making a positive impact on our community and beyond. Our mission is rooted in Rotary International’s motto, “Service Above Self,” and we strive to embody this in everything we do.

The magic of Rotary isn’t an illusion; it’s the real, tangible impact we have on lives when we come together in service. Every time we launch a new initiative, lend a hand, or share a resource, we strengthen the very fabric of our community.

Last year, we made significant strides, particularly in the areas of medical support and education. Together, we launched health-focused projects, providing essential medical resources and care to those in need. Our educational initiatives have opened doors for young minds, equipping them with the tools and support to build brighter futures. I must take a moment to express my deep appreciation to our Immediate Past President, Atish Soodhoo, for his initiatives and the dedicated leadership he provided to our club.

Our work in these areas is just beginning. We are already planning additional sessions to expand our impact, especially in medical and educational support, for the year 2024/25.

  • In medical care, we plan to offer follow-up health sessions that will not only provide medical aid but also educate communities on preventive health.
  • Through screenings, workshops, and access to health professionals, we aim to empower individuals to take charge of their own well-being.
  • In education, we will continue to invest in our youth by providing support and mentorship opportunities. Our QEC Interact Club can safely rely on our continued backing as they pursue their objectives and realize their respective projects.

We want to give students not just materials, but also the inspiration and guidance they need to pursue their dreams. Our goal is to create a ripple effect, where each student we support goes on to uplift others.

Looking forward, we are also committed to Rotary’s global areas of focus, which align closely with our club’s vision. Each step we take strengthens our mission and broadens the impact of our club. We shall also embark on the setting up of a Rotaract Club, register our club as an Association to benefit from CSR for the benefits of our community. Organising fund raising, blood donation and our continued support to vulnerable children and members of the community, guest speakers on sharing of knowledge and leadership qualities will continue to prevail. We shall also have a training program for our strategy planning for the next five years.

But this journey requires each one of us. It is through our collaboration, our unique skills, and our shared purpose that we transform our vision into reality. Every member here plays a crucial role in bringing about this change..

Let us therefore move forward with the spirit of Service Above Self, and continue our journey with renewed enthusiasm and unity.

Long live the Rotary Club of Floreal! In strength and unity, let us move into another magical year.
